LEADERSHIP IS A RELATIONSHIP AMONG A SEGMENT OF ANY POPULATION SHARING A COMMON PURSUIT FOR THE GOOD OF ALL

MONTHLY LEADERSHIP THESIS
For the month of 07/2010

Leaders are careful not to label anyone or anything, even when either is disagreeable to them. Leaders will describe what they see, hear or are invited to accept for what it appears to be. This process keeps them positive and open to understanding. Leaders have faith in themselves and everyone else to choose truth. They see possibilities and are aware of opportunities. The result is, things get better for everyone and humanity moves in a positive direction. When all people, freely and generously assist others, freedom is born for everyone which reflects the faith behind what is done. Leadership is the observable work of the faithful. With faith in humanity, there are good works.

ANTITHESIS

Non-leaders create labels for everything and every person they dislike or with whom they disagree. They label what they see and hear and/or are invited to consider, as their only alternative to what they believe or say what they represent. This keeps them negative and closed to most positive alternatives. Non-leaders claim to have faith in themselves and others but really doubt that things will get better. They see danger everywhere, which they talk about endlessly. The result is hardship for everyone and humanity moves in a negative direction. When non-leaders exploit others, freedom dies for multitudes, especially the young, and because their faith is largely false it cannot produce good works.

QUOTE FOR THE MONTH

"Knowledge really is power, for good or ill. Knowledge can have the power to disrupt ancient patterns of belief and action, the power to subvert authority, the power to change minds." Daniel C. Dennett, Breaking the Spell, p. 48.
